A Few Fruity Concoctions

You are in luck- I have not one, not two, but three drink recipes to share with you this week.  There are just so many good cocktail ideas out there, I feel the need to spread the wealth.  And since we are nearing the time of year when fresh fruit abounds, I thought a fruit-themed post was in order.

First up- the Raspberry Crush.  As you know from my Red Carpet Burn post, I am in love with Chambord, which is the best part of the Raspberry Crush.  Chambord would taste good mixed with rubbing alcohol (although I do not recommend it).  This delightfully decadent raspberry liqueur is a bit spendy, but so worth it.   If you feel like splurging, you will love this cocktail.

Raspberry Crush

2-3 oz Svedka clementine or citrus vodka

1-2 oz Chambord

2 oz lemonade

club soda

Pour first three ingredients in a glass with ice, then top with a few ounces of club soda.  I haven’t tried this drink with Deep Eddy’s lemon vodka, but if you bought some for the Texas Bluebonnet cocktail, give it a try in place of the clementine vodka, I bet it will be amazing.  This drink is so good, it doesn’t even need a garnish- but if you want to reach your daily fruit requirement, toss in some fresh raspberries and a lemon wedge.

Next, let’s move on to citrus.  This lemon drop martini is made with regular and citrus vodkas, which makes it extra tangy.  Super delish!

2 oz vodka

2 oz Svedka clementine or citrus vodka

2 oz lemonade

juice of half a lemon

Pour first three ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.  Squeeze the lemon on top, then shake well and strain into a sugar-rimmed martini glass.  Add a wedge of lemon as a garnish. You might want to try the Deep Eddy’s lemon vodka with this drink too if you can’t get enough lemon. The most important aspect of this drink is the sugar-rimmed martini glass, it makes the drink!

And for our third cocktail, we have the fruitiest of the fruity-  the Absolutely Fruity for you banana/watermelon lovers out there.  It really is a tasty combination- the banana and watermelon flavors go well together, and the vodka adds the kick.  Be careful with this one- it’s 100% booze!  This recipe is for a shot, but if you want to savor the flavors, pour the ingredients into an ice-filled glass.  You can also top it off with a couple ounces of cranberry juice to lighten it up a bit.

½ oz banana liqueur

½ oz watermelon schnapps

½ oz vodka

Pour all three liquors into a cocktail shaker with ice.  Shake well and strain into a shot glass; or adjust as described above.

Enjoy one, two or all three of these fruity drinks this week- all part of a healthy diet!
